OFF

ON (Run)
Key turns, B gets power from battery, M disconnects from ground, allowing the magneto/CDI to generate spark for running.
START
Key turns further, S engages the starter, B also powers the ignition for continued running once started, and then you release the key back to "ON".
Push-to-Choke (if equipped)
Pushing the key in while ON sends power to enrich fuel for starting.
